Peter Hendriks – A Category Instructor2L5A0857

CEO and Chief Flying Instructor Peter Hendriks, has over 30 years experience in the Aviation Industry with more than 11,000 hours of Commercial Operations and Flight Training.

Peter is a NZ  A-Category Instructor and a CAA approved Flight Examiner.  He is qualified in over 40 different types of aircraft from vintage to turbine, helicopters, gliders and float planes.   Peter also holds an Australian Commercial Pilots License in both Fixed-Wing and Helicopter and Canadian Commercial Pilots License in Fixed-Wing.  He has spent many hours mountain flying in British Columbia and float plane flying in both Alaska and Canada.

Some of his favourite adventures include flying a C182 across the Tasman from New Zealand to Australia, and flying his favourite “old girl” – a 1941 vintage Tigermoth, around the entire coastline of New Zealand – which took 3.5 weeks!  Peter says he has the best job in the world, and on the odd day when he’s not flying and “living the dream”,  enjoys the great outdoors – in particular mountain biking and hiking.


Sue Telford – B Category Instructor2L5A0864

Sue has been flying for nearly 30 years with extensive mountain flying experience, accumulated right here in the Mt Aspiring, Mt Cook and Fiordland National Parks. She has flown for Aspiring Air, Mt Cook Airlines and Queenstown Flightseeing (now Real Journeys) to Milford Sound, Mt Aspiring and Mt Cook and is also rated in the Cessna 207, Cessna 206, Britten Norman Islander, Twin Otter and the Nomad. Sue has lived in Wanaka since 1989, is married with 2 teenage daughters and when not out flying enjoys hiking, biking and skiing in the local area.


Ash Hurndell – B Category InstructorAsh Small

Instructor, Ash Hurndell has a decade of flying in both New Zealand and in and around the Rocky Mountains in Canada and holds both his NZ and Canadian Licenses.   As a B-Cat Fixed Wing and Glider Instructor Ash has a passion for the mountain environment and loves sharing his knowledge of the area and the terrain with students and visiting pilots.  Ash is particularly fond of the Mt Cook region.  He is an experienced tail dragger pilot along with being an Aerobatic Instructor.  An accomplished musician, Ash can often be heard composing on a grand piano in his spare time.
